FSC®
The FSC®, Forest Stewardship Council, is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization created to promote responsible forest management around the world.
Through its certification system, the FSC® label recognizes the responsible production of forest products, allowing consumers and companies to make conscious purchasing decisions, benefiting people and the environment, as well as adding value to businesses.
Founded in 1993 as a response to concerns about global deforestation, the FSC® is a pioneering forum that brings together voices from the North and South to define what is environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable forest management, and to identify tools and resources that promote positive and lasting change for forests and the people who live in them.
The FSC® is based in Bonn, Germany, and is represented nationally in more than 70 countries around the world.
